What is There to Do in Las Vegas?
Las Vegas is a destination that offers something for everyone. Whether you want to visit one of the many casinos, make the most of the vibrant nightlife or visit the shops, restaurants or theatres to enjoy a show, you'll be spoilt for choice.
There are plenty of glamorous places to stay, with 17 of the 20 biggest hotels in the U.S. being in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas is home to some of the most spectacular shopping outlets in the world including Crystals at CityCenter, the Forum Shops at Caesars, the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian and the Miracle Mils shops at Planet Hollywood. It’s a good idea to rent a car for your stay. Distances on the Strip can be deceiving, and a lot of walking is required to see everything.
Places to Explore
Red Rock Canyon is only a short 30 minute car journey from the centre of Las Vegas. Marvel at the mighty rock formations, find a suitable trail and hike your way through some of the stunning scenery.
Less than an hour’s drive from the Strip, on the way to the Grand Canyon, stands the Hoover Dam. It was built during the 1930s Depression era and today generates power for over a million people. Take a tour and ride the underground elevators down to watch the giant turbines in action. Take a walk across the dam, which straddles the Nevada/Arizona state line.
If you want to venture further afield, head out to the Grand Canyon, a 5 hour drive from the strip. At over 275 miles long and measuring over a mile deep and almost 20 miles across in some places, this natural wonder of the world will impress!
