Day Trips From Fort Myers
Cape Coral on the opposite side of the Caloosahatchee River has many sights and attractions worth visiting. Enjoy a round of golf at one of the many golf courses or float down the Lazy River ride at the popular Sun Splash Family Waterpark. Alternatively, head over to one of the many beaches and just relax.
Tampa and the Tampa Bay area are easily reachable with a hire car by taking interstate 75 northwards. With major attractions that include Busch Gardens, spend a day at the 335-acre African-themed animal theme park.
The Florida Aquarium at Tampa is home to more than 20,000 aquatic plants and animals from Florida and all over the world. See sharks, penguins, dolphins, otters, and swim with the fishes.
Follow the interstate south from Fort Myers and head towards Miami. Laze on some of its beautiful beaches and sample the active nightlife! Attractions such as Miami’s Seaquarium, Miami Zoo and Jungle Island are also well worth the trip.
