A fresh, honest approach to car rental

A rugged country.

Sri Lanka is a diverse and picturesque location for a fantastic driving holiday. It is advisable to drive with caution as pedestrians and animals often appear in the road with no prior warning. We would also advise against driving at night outside Colombo.

Plan your journeys in advance and you can most certainly enjoy the best this country has to offer. From wonderful architecture to ancient cities and with white sandy beaches never far away, this island paradise is not to be missed.

Tips for driving in Sri Lanka

Do I need an international Driving Permit in Sri Lanka?

You will need an International Driving Permit to drive in Sri Lanka. You must obtain an IDP in advance of your trip to Sri Lanka.

You will need to send a copy of your International Driving Permit directly to the car rental provider in Sri Lanka prior to your arrival. This will enable a Temporary Driving Licence to be obtained from the Automobile Association. There is usually a charge of approximately 4,500 LKR for this service.

If you have made a booking with us, we will advise on what steps to take during the booking process and on your pre-paid car hire voucher. If you have any questions regarding this process, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will gladly assist you.
