Things to See and Do in Agadir
Head to Sunset or Palm Beach to soak up the sun and enjoy the clear waters. Spend some time relaxing without any interruptions or try your hand at the water sports on offer. Jet-skiing, body-boarding, windsurfing and paragliding are just a few of the water based activities that you can enjoy. Beach clubs, bars, cafes and restaurants line the promenade and offer great views of the bay when the sun sets in the evening.
The best views of the city and the bay are to be had at the Kasbah on the hill. This is the only historic building still standing after the city suffered severe damage in 1960 following an earthquake. Take the road which winds around the hill giving great views down onto the fishing port and overlooks the beach and the city.
Day Trips From Agadir
Travel to Marrakech and head to Djemaa el-Fna, which is full of activity. For a taste of true Moroccan culture you must also visit a souk and try your hand at haggling to get a bargain.
Circle the Koutoubia Mosque which is Marrakech’s most famous symbol. It’s still an active place of worship and whilst non-Muslims aren’t allowed inside, it’s well-worth visiting to admire the majestic architecture from the outside. Built in a traditional Almohad style and topped with four copper globes the mosque is visible from near and far and towers above its surroundings.
Journey to Toubkal National Park. Littered with a huge array of flora and fauna to enjoy, all housed within a gorgeous rocky landscape, you can’t fail to fall in love with this area. Embark on one of the hiking trails through the spectacular park which provides a unique insight into authentic rural Moroccan country life.
