In Perugia
Take a trip to the Palazzo dei Priori which imposes itself upon the skyline. Take a tour of the palace to learn about its historical significance and its different uses over the years.
Within the city, you can also visit the Etruscan Well before heading to the Basilica of San Domenico. Here you can see some beautiful architecture and wander around the interior of this incredible religious building.
The Surrounding Area
With the use of a hire car, you can take advantage of all the brilliant day trips on offer from Perugia. For example, take the short drive to Lake Trasimeno. Walk amongst the surrounding hills and olive groves and appreciate the countryside. You can also visit several castle ruins which surround the lake such as Maggiore Castle and Zocco Castle.
Just a 45 minute drive away is Monte Subasio Park, which makes for an enjoyable day out. It is a haven for lovers of the outdoors and there are lots of great walking trails on offer.
Alternatively, pay a visit to some of the local towns found in the valleys such as the medieval town of Spello or Valtopina which is home to the Santa Cristina Church.
