Picasso Museum Malaga

The legendary artist, Pablo Picasso, was actually born and raised in Malaga! In 2003 the Museo Picasso Málaga opened to showcase and preserve his excellent artwork. The museum has 285 works donated by the members of Picasso’s family. The museum is a perfect day out for art lovers who want to escape the rain. Located in the centre of Malaga, the Picasso Museum is close by to other attractions such as the Malaga Cathedral.

Malaga Cathedral

The Cathedral in Malaga was built between the years of 1528 and 1782 (254 years) and stands as a perfect display of beautiful Spanish Renaissance architecture. Furthermore, there is a small museum within the building that explores the building’s history. Although it may be best avoided in the rain, you can visit the vibrant cathedral gardens and rooftop with a fantastic view of Malaga!

The Atarazanas Market is food heaven! In the market you’ll find dozens of stalls selling fruit, veg, meat, and ready to eat tapas. Long ago when most of Malaga was submerged underwater, Atarazanas was a shipyard. Remnants of the old shipyard now shelter the huge Malaga market, giving it an excellent shelter from the rain whilst you browse for food.

Descend into the Caves of Nerja… Home to the world’s largest naturally forming column (32m in height and 13x7m at its base)! The caves stretch on for almost 5 kilometres and can be visited by tour or in the concerts that are regularly held in one of the chambers. Moreover, the network of caves features over 500 rock paintings that date back before 3600 BC. Going underground can be a great way to escape a rainy day in Malaga.

Malaga Interactive Museum of Music

Known as the Museo Interactivo de la Música, this kid-friendly museum will inspire you to get involved with music! The museum showcases musical instruments throughout past ages and cultures.
