Economy Car Hire have been rated the top car hire broker by Which? for the 4th year running!

Which? logo

With over 2,000 responses from Which? members, we received top marks for our clarity of extra charges, ease of opting out of extra charges, clarity of fuel policy, and clarity of final hire cost. We also scored highly on customer service and overall satisfaction to give us a final score of 80%.

Highlighting our commitment to making car rental as clear and as simple as possible for all our customers, we’re delighted to say we were 13% ahead of our nearest rival.

Fair fuel policy

Last year there was a strong focus on fuel policies and the trend continued this year. All our quotes now include a fair fuel policy so you have even less to worry about when on holiday! Simply look for the Fair Fuel Policy tick next to the vehicle on the search results and you’ll know you’re safe.

Optional extras

This year’s report also focused on the cost of optional extras with research carried out by Economy Car Hire. The findings back up our recommendation – “if possible, take your own”.

Satnav

With the average cost of a Satnav in Europe £8 per day, it’s always best to take your own. In some cases, it can cost as much as £18 per day!

Child seats

In Europe, the average child seat costs £5 per day but with many airlines allowing free carriage, again you’re better off taking your own.

Vehicles

Another finding was the number of respondents who’d been given a different vehicle to the one they booked or one that wasn’t in good condition. Whilst we can’t guarantee the vehicle you’ll receive, if you’re ever unhappy with the car provided, please let us know immediately.

Trouble starting your hire car?

The latest report also highlighted that people often have problems when starting their hire car. Our top tip is to make sure you depress the clutch right to the floor to start the vehicle. Have you ever had issues with this? Let us know in the comments below.
