“Screech in” in Newfoundland

If you visit Newfoundland, head to an old bar and take part in the ‘Screeching In’ initiation tradition. It involves drinking a shot of Newfoundland Screech, a strong rum, which is then followed with kissing a cod fish on the mouth and responding to the question “Is ye an honorary Newfoundlander?” with the answer “‘deed I is me ol’ cock, and long may your big jib draw” (meaning “Indeed I am my old friend, and may your ship’s sail draw wind for a long time”). Afterwards, you’ll receive an official certificate naming you an “honorary Newfoundlander”!

Explore the country’s greatest cities

No trip to Canada would be complete without exploring some of the greatest cities. Toronto tops the list with the huge CN Tower being one of the most popular attractions as well as its strong comedy scene.
