Things to do near Malaga Airport

If you are planning to spend the majority of your holiday laid up on the sand on one of the Costa del Sol’s finest beaches, why not inject a little culture in to your trip first? Malaga city is famed as being home to renowned artist Pablo Picasso and there are a number of Picasso inspired attractions including a trip to his birth home and of course the Picasso Museum which hosts a number of exceptional works of art.

Elsewhere in the city itself, take in the sights of historic Malaga with a trip first to the Cathedral and Alcazaba of Malaga, a historic palatial fortress. Before you venture to your resort, enjoy your first taste of Spain and swing by for a bite to eat at a local tapas bar for an authentic and delicious meal.

Get stuck in and head straight to Aqualand in Torremolionos for some fun in the sun with several pools and plenty of slides to choose from! Just 8km from the airport, you’ll be there in a flash with a hire car from Malaga Airport.

Things to do near Murcia Airport

Many people who fly to Murcia Airport will be staying in a small village rather than a busier resort; such is the way of life on the Costa Calida. Before you set up camp however, jump in your Murcia Airport hire car and spend the afternoon exploring some of the great attractions right near the airport. There is plenty to see and do and it makes sense to enjoy them whilst you are in the area.

An attractive view of Cartagena in Spain.

Start with a trip to the stunning Mar Menor lagoon. The boundaries of the airport literally back onto the lake, but you will need to drive to the nearest beach to fully appreciate the beauty of this natural landmark. Dive in and enjoy a dip under the hot Spanish sun and explore the Calblanque Nature Reserve a short distance away too.

The city of Cartagena is actually closer to Murcia Airport than Murcia City itself and it’s an interesting place to explore, particularly with its strong naval roots and littering of Roman ruins including a Roman theatre. With a bustling atmosphere and plenty to see and do, an afternoon here will certainly be well spent.

Things to do near Spain’s main airports – Alicante Airport

Alicante Airport is the gateway to the Costa Blanca, arguably the best known area of Spain which is famed for its excellent beaches, busy and fun loving atmosphere and great weather. Start with a trip into Alicante city using your hire car at Alicante Airport; it will take you less than 20 minutes and the city is brimming with countless attractions.
