September has been a huge month for travel. Here’s our picks of the biggest travel news you need to know about.

  1. Singapore Airlines set to unveil “World’s longest flight”

Singapore airlines have been in deep preparation for the launch of their new world record length flight. Their new Airbus A350-900 will be flying between Singapore and Newark Liberty International Airport which will take a whopping 18 hours 45 minutes. More Info

Our take: That is a long flight, how would you deal with being on a plane for that long? I think I’d struggle without a break.

  1. Southend Airport set to play host to Ryanair from next Spring

Southend Airport has been seeing nothing but growth lately. Passenger numbers rose by 37% this year alone. That number is set to keep increasing Ryanair flights set to start departing from the airport next Spring. More Info

Our take: More passengers can only mean good things for Southend airport and the option of a budget airline for passengers can’t be a bad thing, surely?

  1. UK drivers may require international driving permit to drive in the EU after a no-deal Brexit

Unsurprisingly, it has come to light that standard English driving licenses may no longer be valid as they are if the UK was to leave Europe with no-deal. This would require drivers obtain an international driving permit should they wish to drive on the continent. More Info

Our take: This isn’t really a huge surprise and while it’s not ideal, it’s not the end of the world. International driving permits are only £5.50.
