- The Civil Aviation Authority has issued a warning regarding scam holiday websites. They urge customers to double check their bookings as it arises that a number of holiday websites are displaying a false ‘Atol protected’ logo. Indicators of a ‘scam’ holiday website include “unusually cheap flights”, “poor contact details” and “no online payment facility”. The CAA also point out that a web address ending in co.uk is no proof a company is based in the UK. To ensure you aren’t duped check that the Atol Protected logo is legitimate by noting whether it has the required reference number and that it belongs to a registered company on the CAA website.
- If you have concerns regarding a website check your Atol reference number on the CAA website here.
