We made many changes at the start of the pandemic to ensure your safety and give you peace of mind. Free cancellation is now standard (and amendments), so if your plans change because of Coronavirus, you’re not out of pocket.
You’ll also see a new ‘Enhanced Cleaning’ checkmark on all vehicle searches. We have ensured that all rental companies we work with thoroughly sanitise vehicles between each rental. All touch points are rigorously cleaned before you collect, including:
- Door handles
- Steering wheel
- Gear lever
- Dashboard
- Switches
- Seats
Collecting your hire car is safe
Whether you’re collecting from an on-airport car rental company or shuttle service, your safety is paramount and most collections will be as contact-free as possible. Shuttle services are still operating but will carry fewer customers. Shuttle vehicles are regularly sanitised and everyone is required to wear a face covering, car rental is cleaner than ever!

Car rental has always been the safest way to travel while abroad. The Coronavirus pandemic has made that fact even stronger, whilst you’re out and about exploring in your hire car, you’re in your own little bubble and away from possible infection.
In stark contrast to a packed bus or train, your hire car is likely to be air-conditioned and you’ll only be with members of your travelling party. There’s no need to wear a mask and you can feel comfortable knowing that you’re not exposed.
Another benefit of hiring a car while we live with Coronavirus is the freedom you gain. Public transport services may be limited or not running at all, which means you’re going nowhere fast.
