The course has received plenty of praise from professional players commending the quality of the fairways and with a choice of tees for each hole of the game it truly caters for all abilities. In contrast to Palheiro, Serra certainly boasts flatter terrain yet remains picturesque with four lakes and mountains views as your backdrop. A variety of on course challenges will keep you on your toes and it’s ranked as the 12th best course amongst Portugal’s entire catalogue of 75 courses!
Porto Santo Golf Club
Although not actually on the island of Madeira itself, the aptly named Porto Santo Golf Club is located on the island of the same name which is found nearby. Backed by dramatic cliffs and rolling all the way down to the water’s edge, this course blends into the surroundings perfectly and certainly celebrates nature as well as interesting game play. The 18 holes are split between two zones, the north and south, with a total par of 72. Dotted with lakes and the threat of cliff edges, this course is guaranteed to pique your interest whilst providing the perfect opportunity to visit and explore more of Porto Santo as a whole. The clubhouse and pro shop will cater to all your needs and even offers a little indulgence with a sauna and jacuzzi on site whilst the driving range and pitch-and-putt may cater for other members of your party.
