Round 2 of the MINI JCW Championship saw the drivers head to Lewis’ (and our) local track, Snetterton. Running alongside the British GT Championship and Formula 3, the mixed conditions of the weekend made sure the spectators were in for a treat.
Following a tricky qualifying session on Saturday, Lewis lined up 26th on the grid for race 1. As the lights went out, Lewis immediately started to work at picking off drivers to end up finishing in a solid 19th place during the 20-minute race.
It was race 2 however where Lewis shone in the drizzle. After starting 19th and getting knocked back to 23rd following contact with another driver, Lewis stuck at it. With the drizzle causing many incidents. Lewis carved through the pack to finish an impressive 14th at the end of the race.
Next up, we’re at Silverstone on 8-9th June. With performances like yesterday’s, we’re pretty sure that a young Mr Galer will be hot on the heels of the front runners in no time. Watch this space…
