Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, we have been working hard to make sure our service continues to meet the high standards that our customers expect. This is even more important during these uncertain times.

At Zest we believe your car rental experience should be as straightforward and safe as possible.

Cancellations are now free

We waivered all cancellation charges during the first 4 months of the pandemic. The pandemic made us see that changes needed to be made to our cancellation policy to make it much fairer on a permanent basis. From 1st July 2020, we introduced free cancellation, up to 48 hours before the rental takes place. Customers can still amend or transfer bookings free of charge after that period. We also revised our cancellation charges within 48 hours of the rental taking place to make it even fairer for customers. Check out our FAQs for more info.

Easy cancellation

To make cancellations quicker and easier, we’ve introduced the facility for customers to cancel their booking from within ‘My Account’. If applicable, any charges are shown and refunds are processed quickly. We waivered all cancellation charges for customers whose bookings were initially affected by the pandemic (up to 1st July 2020). For rentals taking place after this date, our new cancellation policy will apply.

Enhanced cleaning procedures

We know that customers may have concerns about collecting a vehicle that has been used previously. That is why we’ve introduced new cleaning measures with all the rental providers we work with. Over 300 rental companies have agreed with our strict cleaning guidelines, these companies are highlighted on our quote results with an ‘Enhanced Cleaning’ label.

Before each rental, vehicles go through a rigorous cleaning process. In addition to regular cleaning, disinfectant is used to clean all frequently touched surfaces of the vehicle, including:

  • Door handles
  • Steering wheel
  • Gear lever
  • Controls
  • Dashboard
  • Seats
  • Seat belts
  • Car keys

Changes to our Book Now, Pay Later option

Using our Book Now, Pay Later option you can now secure any booking from £150 up to £499 with a £29 deposit, if the rental is more than 6 weeks in advance.

Where should I travel in 2021?

In February 2021 we took a look at the vaccination data available to us, measures taken by countries and their geographical position to help us determine the places we’d feel most comfortable with visiting in 2021 and beyond. This guide isn’t all-encompassing and we cannot make any guarantees but once it’s safe to travel again, this is where we’re heading!
