You’re finally on your hols and having just collected your luggage, you make your way to the car hire service desk to collect your car. After a long flight it may be tempting to rush the car hire collection process so you can quickly get to your accommodation, but this could end up costing you more time later in your holiday.
So, when you are collecting your hire car, we recommended you follow the following checklist to make sure you are completely happy with your vehicle and the contract.
Unhappy with the condition of your vehicle?
To avoid any problems during your hire it is worth taking some time to have a look around your car and discuss any problems with the representative. It is easier for them to help you while you are there, rather than finding problems later when you are a long distance away.
Confused by extra charges?
If you find any extra charges confusing then query them with the representative or call the company that you booked through so that they can ensure that you are not wrongly charged extra unnecessarily.
Paying for extras
If you do need any extras like child seats make sure you pay with a credit card or if you pay with cash, get a receipt.
Have two copies of your booking receipt or voucher with you
The car hire company will keep a copy of your voucher when you collect your vehicle. A spare copy will be useful as this includes the details of the car hire supplier so you can refer to this if you have concerns or problems.
