Spain is a travel favourite for many. With its stunning beaches and attractions, it’s not difficult to see why. Alicante Airport is a popular spot for people to collect their hire cars in Spain. You can simply walk straight off your flight and into your hire car. Collecting the car should be easy, but it always helps to have some inside information before you go. We work with several suppliers at Alicante Airport, each of which have their own collection procedures.
There is one terminal building at Alicante Airport, with four floors broken down as follows;
- Level P -2: Ground transportation.
- Level P0: Arrivals and rental car desks.
- Level P2: Departures.
- Level P3: VIP lounges.
Car rental providers at Alicante Airport will either have the vehicle waiting for you in the airport car park (highlighted in green) accessible from Level P -2 in the terminal or from their depot. The airport car park is a multi-storey building accessible a short walk underground (shown in blue) from the airport terminal (highlighted in red).

Meet and greet, shuttle bus
Shuttle buses will collect you from either the bus bays at the airport or from the Passenger Reception Area. Your terms of hire will specify instructions for which is applicable.
Where collection instructions state you should head to the bus bays, collect your bags from luggage reclaim and follow signs for the bus bays on Level P -2. These are numbered – different suppliers will operate from different bays. Your collection instructions will tell you which bay(s) you need to head to. You will be met at the appropriate bus bay by the supplier’s representative and driver of their shuttle bus. The shuttle bus will then take you to their nearby depot to complete the paperwork and receive the vehicle.
Example supplier: Drivalia
Alternatively, the supplier’s shuttle bus will collect you from the Passenger Reception Area. This is outside the terminal building and is signposted.

The suppliers that we work with at Alicante Airport who provide the vehicle from their depots are located within proximity of the airport, just a 4-5-minute drive away.
Desk and vehicle at airport
When you enter the Arrivals Hall following baggage reclaim, the car rental supplier desks are in front of you, following the barriers. They are clearly branded for each supplier. We recommend you then follow the signs through the underground walkway which connects the terminal to the car park. The supplier will have allocated spaces in the airport car park from which your vehicle will be available.

Collecting your hire car at Alicante Airport, or any other destination
When being shown to your hire car, always insist the supplier’s representative dedicates enough time to suitably survey the vehicle. Make sure that they record any pre-existing damage on the rental agreement. Take photos of any damage for evidence should it be queried later.

Remember that Zest are available for assistance throughout your rental period for any issues and queries. If you’re unable to locate the supplier’s representative, please don’t hesitate to contact us at the time and we can help you find them.
