Welcome to a fresh approach to car hire.

We were founded as Economy Car Hire in 2000. Since then, these past 16 years have taught us more about car rental than we ever thought possible, we’re proud of how we’ve grown and everything we’ve learnt in this time. Over the past 2 years however we’ve realised that our brand and the Economy Car Hire name, no longer perfectly reflected our vision and approach for how car hire should be.

We believe car hire should be simple, it should be clear and it should be honest and we wanted our brand, name and website to reflect these values. To do this, we’ve spent the last 2 years working at completely overhauling everything Economy Car Hire.

To help us make these changes, we’ve taken into account 16 years worth of customer feedback, the advice and expertise of our fantastic team and even some outside help to give us some perspective. All of this over a 2 year period to give you the easiest, simplest and most stress-free car hire experience available.

After all this work, we’re really proud to finally unveil the new face of Economy Car Hire: Zest Car Rental.

What’s changed?

In short: everything that could’ve been improved, has been improved. In the transition from Economy Car Hire to Zest, we’ve overhauled, redesigned and tinkered with every bit of the car hire booking experience. We’ve done away with complicated jargon, we’ve removed confusing layouts and language and from the ground up, we’ve rebuilt everything with a focus on simplicity, clarity and honesty.

The changes that matter to you:

  • New simple and easy to understand booking process – all cost are displayed clearly on each step of the booking process.
  • Simplified pricing structure, you get the same price whether you book online or over the phone.
  • New focus on human, clear and honest wording in all of our emails, letters and communications with you.
  • Revamped pre-paid car hire voucher to make picking up and the details of your hire even clearer.
  • Removed any and all complicated jargon and confusing language.
  • Revamped car hire and travel advice blog section. Travel and driving guides for every location you can think of.

What’s stayed the same?

Even through all these changes we knew that we had some great assets and services that we wanted to hang on to. This means we’ve not removed or changed anything that we knew our customers loved.

So this means for you:

  • The same fantastic customer service team and opening hours.
  • The same focus on only working with the best car hire providers around.
  • The same commitment to fantastic customer support and assistance.

Things that have not happened:

  • We’ve not been taken over, bought out or anything else like that. It’s the same team here, top to bottom.
  • We’ve not changed how we operate, the service we provide or changed anything else that could be detrimental to your car hire experience.

Moving forward

We’ve made a lot of changes but we’re by no means done revolutionising car hire. We think we’ve made huge steps forward with the re-brand and we hope you feel the same. We’re committed to ongoing, positive changes that makes car hire even better so if you ever have any feedback, or criticism, please feel free to let us know and we’ll put that in the pot for future changes.
