With winter well underway and snow scattered over mountain tops around the world, ski season is in full swing much to the delight of skiers and snowboarders. We probably shouldn’t tell you, but why not check out one of these secret ski resorts this season… (But ssh, remember to keep them to yourself!)

Mammoth, USA

America has many ski resorts on offer so there are plenty that will slip through the net and so far, Mammoth is one of them. Boasting plenty of packed powder, Mammoth Mountain ski area offers the perfect winter wonderland for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. Pros and improvers can head off and get started on the variety of pistes and terrain parks whilst beginners can get to grips with the snow at the ski and snowboarding school. With something for everyone, this Californian Mountain will set a smile on your face, as will the surrounding Yosemite National Park!

Lillehammer, Norway

With just one ski pass, you can access the pistes of 5 alpine centres which together create Lillehammer; Norway’s premier skiing area. With consistent snow, fair prices, excellent trails and great scenery it’s hard to pinpoint why Lillehammer isn’t more popular. Downhill and cross country skiing are found in abundance with floodlit trails for night time skiing too. For non-skiers, there is plenty to keep you occupied from snow-shoeing to dog sledding and indoor entertainment such as museums and art galleries. Why not consider Norway for a skiing holiday?

Oddsskard, Iceland

It is mainly frequented by locals and visitors from Germany which means this resort has a very friendly and village feel whilst still offering excellent facilities and great snow, despite its low position at 3,600ft. Ideal for intermediate skiers and families, enjoy the atmosphere of this traditional Swiss resort.

    These are the best resorts of different places. All provide top notch facilities. I like Flims ski resort very much. I visited this resort in my holidays and enjoyed a lot with my friends.
